Ordering by Size

This week, we have been ordering a range of objects from smallest to biggest and from biggest to smallest for an extra challenge. The children did a great job at correcting Miss Bridge when she showed them some shapes that were not in size order. We have been ordering bears, blocks, Numicon, dolls, leaves and even the children!

Reading CVC Words

This week, we have been reading CVC words - words that contain three sounds. Some of the children focussed on identifying the initial sound in each word, while others tried to say each sound in the word before blending them together. We used a range of activities to help us with this skill, including matching pictures to the correct word, snakes and ladders and finding hidden CVC around the classroom using magnifying glasses.

Odd and Even

We learnt a song to remind us about which numbers are odd and even! Thank you Mrs Longden for teaching us it!

Puppet Show!

On Friday afternoon we were lucky enough to go and show our puppet shows retelling the Pied Piper story to Pink class. We loved using our puppets and our scenery to tell the story and we were super impressed with how well Pink class listened, thank you!

Practical Maths

In Green Class we have made a great start to our Maths learning this week! We have been using the part whole model to help us with our addition number sentences.
