Last week we celebrated Earth Day at Beighton Nursery Infant School. Earth Day is a great way to learn about how our actions can affect the planet and the environment in which we live.
During our litter pick we also learnt about the importance of recycling and how we can sort the litter into different recycling bins. We had two recycling centre managers, Eleanor and Harley who made sure the litter was put into the correct bins.
After the litter pick some of the children thought of some great ideas when taking part in some activities! Tyga said "we could reuse some of the litter!" and Conor said "we could use less plastic!" It made us really sad that the litter could end up in the ocean and harm the wonderful sea creatures.
After Earth Day we received a letter from Mrs Reid our headteacher, and she wanted to know if we could help her think of some ways to protect our planet. Not only did we take part in a super litter pick, we wrote her a letter back to explain what we could do.
Well done Red Class. What a brilliant day we had!
