How to Build a Strong Bridge

In Year 1 we have been learning about The Three Billy Goats Gruff. This week in blue class we tried to build our own bridge, and we learnt how to make our bridge strong and stable.

We used a range of materials including lego, straws, cubes and lolly pop sticks.

Blue class were team work trolls and worked in partners and groups to create their bridge.

We learnt that the paper straws were too long so the children cut them to make their bridge stronger and more stable.

We learnt that triangles are the strongest shape and that if our bridges were made using triangles out of our materials it would be even stronger.

Which material would you use to build your bridge?
