On Tuesday it was national Safer Internet day. We spent the day having discussions on how to use the internet safely. Firstly we discussed what the internet is and a few of the children realised they have used it before, looking at things like the CBeebies website. We spoke about how, as the children are quite young, it is better for them to use the internet under adult supervision. We discussed how some things might not be right for their age and may be suitable for older children or grown- ups. Then we spoke about which adult we would speak to if we saw something we were unsure about on the internet. They created lovely hand prints and wrote the name of a trusted adult that they could turn to above each finger! We also read a few story books on the subject, and the children enjoyed listening to these. It was a great day for the children to find out more about the internet and to learn how to stay safe!
