Welcome back Lilac class

Hi everyone,

Welcome back to school! I hope you all had a great Christmas break and are now ready and refreshed for our spring term! As one of your new class teachers I am very excited to be starting the new year in Lilac class. This week has been a great start to our term where we have introduced our new topic 'brrrr it's cold outside!'. We will spend the next term looking at all things winter, such as the weather and how it changes our environment. We will also look at Arctic animals together and look at what life in the Arctic is like.

We have made a great start this week by making fabulous pictures of penguins and snowmen. The children were given the opportunity to create these pieces and they were very much independent. It's great to see the creativity and they look great on our topic wall!

Our book we have been reading together as a class is The Emperor's Egg by Martin Jenkins. The children have really enjoyed this book as it gives us lots of facts about the emperor penguin and the Arctic.

Finally, I just want to say thank you to everyone for making me feel so welcome! If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask me before or after school.

Mrs Temprell
