This week so far...

Hi everyone,

We have had an amazing start to our new week, embracing our topic 'brrr it's cold outside' with plenty of themed lessons and activities!

On Tuesday we enjoyed our first trip to the school library where the children spent time together looking at books. Most of the children chose a new book to take home and read with you! Please can we have the book back by next Tuesday ready to swap it for a new one. We wan't to encourage daily reading and sharing of books as this benefits the children's in terms of their reading skills.

We have updated our outdoor play area to include a digging area and a stage, where we would love the children to perform for each other by singing and dancing! Watch this space for more developments in the near future!

As part of our topic we have been learning about the seasons as well as the weather, with a particular focus on winter! This week we have learnt the names of the seasons, what the weather is like within each season and what happens to plants - particularly trees!
We have been doing some fabulous fine motor sessions. These sessions benefit the hands by warming the muscles up in the fingers which in turn benefits the children's writing. We have threaded bobbins on to string and used tweezers to collect snow (cotton balls -shhh).

Hope the children enjoy their amazing week!
