Goldilocks and the Three Bears

Last week, we read Goldilocks and the Three Bears and created a story path using pictures to help us remember the order of the story. We also learnt some actions to help us to remember the main events and re-tell the story in a variety of ways.

We ordered pictures from the story.

We used props in the small world area.

We created our own story paths.

We made our own bear masks using tissue paper.

We built a cottage for the bears in the construction area.

Repeating Patterns

Last week, we focussed on making repeating patterns using a variety of objects both inside and outside. The children did a great job - take a look at some of our learning!

Welcome to Pink Class.

Over the last few weeks, the children have been settling nicely into the school routines at Beighton. We have been learning about our 'bee rules' and finding out a little bit more about each other using circle activities. 

We have also started our phonics learning, where we learn a new sound each day, which the children will take home to practise. However, this particular homework does not need to be brought back into school. 

Just to confirm our P.E day is Wednesday and we will visit the library every Tuesday, so please make sure you bring any library books back to swap. 

All children will have a reading record and a colour-coded book by the end of the week.

Finger Puppet Sewing

We had a fantastic time sewing our finger puppets and cannot wait to perform our shows to the Reception children next week!

Maths Games

We have been using some Maths games from the TopMarks website in our learning this week, we have really enjoyed the Basketball Place Value game.
