Our Fantastic Trip

I have to say I was incredibly proud of Turquoise Class on Friday. Their behaviour was absolutely outstanding at every point in the day and many members of the public remarked on their manners. We loved spending time in the Winter Gardens sketching and truly impressed Graves Gallery with our portrait skills. Thank you again for supporting us in our learning.

Baking Iced Sea Biscuits

This week in Green Class we have been making 'Iced Sea Biscuits' for Mr Grinling.

We followed a recipe in order to make the biscuits and then we decorated them. We will be writing our own recipes next week.

Baking Iced Sea Biscuits

This week we made Iced Sea Biscuits as part of our learning about The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch. We are going to be writing a recipe in the coming week. The children are able to discuss what they did, they know that we use command sentences in a recipe and they also know the features of a recipe e.g. ingredients and method. 


When we made the biscuits we listened really well and followed instructions. 

Our Marvellous Medicine

This morning we have made our marvellous medicines! We chose four ingredients and mixed them altogether. Next week we are going to write instructions so that we can make them again.

Baking Biscuits

In English we have been focusing on instructions. We have explored the purpose of instructions through looking at recipes. We followed Mr Grinling's recipe to create our own iced sea biscuits.

First we weighed out the ingredients.

Second we put the butter in the bowl of sugar.

Then we mixed it together.

After we added the flour we tipped the dough out onto the table ready to roll it out.

Next we cut out our biscuits.

After that we put them on a baking tray, ready to go into the oven for 15 minutes.

Finally we decorated our biscuits and took them home to enjoy!
