Our Marvellous Medicine

This morning we have made our marvellous medicines! We chose four ingredients and mixed them altogether. Next week we are going to write instructions so that we can make them again.

Baking Biscuits

In English we have been focusing on instructions. We have explored the purpose of instructions through looking at recipes. We followed Mr Grinling's recipe to create our own iced sea biscuits.

First we weighed out the ingredients.

Second we put the butter in the bowl of sugar.

Then we mixed it together.

After we added the flour we tipped the dough out onto the table ready to roll it out.

Next we cut out our biscuits.

After that we put them on a baking tray, ready to go into the oven for 15 minutes.

Finally we decorated our biscuits and took them home to enjoy!

Great Fire of London Workshop

Blue Class really enjoyed their Great Fire of London workshop.

We used drama and props to retell the events of the fire.

We also played games such as passing the bucket along the line which helped us to understand how fire safety has changed and the challenges that people faced in 1666 when fighting the fire.

Galleries Visit

Orange Class had a fantastic trip to Sheffield City Centre today! 

We spent some time sketching in the Winter Gardens and admired the exhibits in Millennium Galleries.

We then took part in the Portrait Workshop in Graves Gallery where we had the chance to look at the different artwork and had a go at sketching our own versions.

Great Fire of London Workshop

Today 'One Day Creative' came in and did a workshop about The Great Fire of London with us. We loved it! We acted out the different things that happened in London at the time of the fire and learnt some interesting new facts. Did you know Samuel Pepys hid some cheese because it was very expensive in 1666? Thank you One day Creative!
