This week in Maths we have started each day with our 'Learn Its' and are trying to recall these facts quickly. Here are the ones we have been working on.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!
It has been a very busy week for Turquoise Class. As we are getting back in to routines please can you make sure your child has their PE in school as our PE days are now Wednesday and Friday. They also need their book bag every day and reading book.
Thanks

Welcome Back!

Welcome back and Happy New Year!  We want to take this opportunity to thank you so much for your kind Christmas gifts.  We hope you all had a wonderful festive break and wish you a very happy new year.

The children have made a good start back to the new term.  This week they have been exploring new vocabulary on their 'Knowledge Organiser' and learning the five facts for this half term.

In Geography we have been learning the names of the seven continents.  Can you remember what they are?

In Maths, we have been singing and ordering the 'Days of the Week' and the 'Months of the Year'.  We worked with a partner to make a days of the week paper chain and then used them to answer questions such as; What day comes before Saturday? and Which day comes 2 after Monday?

Drama

In English we have started to read George's Marvellous Medicine by Roald Dahl. Today we took on the roles of Grandma and George and acted out the conversation from the first chapter of the story.

We focused on our facial expressions and our body language to really show the audience the different personalities of the two characters.

Can you tell who's who?

Knowledge Organisers

At the end of last half term we sent out a 'knowledge organiser' with our vocabulary dozen included on it. This outlines all the learning we will be doing this half term and all the vocabulary or facts the children will need to know.

It would be great to discuss this and complete little quizzes about each word or fact! This will really give the children a head start in understanding their learning.
