Maths of the Day

This afternoon we went outside to do some partitioning with Motty. We had to run and get a number sentence and then run back to our partner and write as many ways to partition as we can.

For example:

30 + 6 = 36
20 + 16 = 36
10 + 26 = 36
0 + 36 = 36

The Gruffalo

Yesterday we went outside to the Forest Schools to make habitats for the animals in the Gruffalo. We used sticks, rocks, sand and the water. We also made collages by drawing the animals on the floor using chalk and then filling them with rocks, twigs, leaves, mud and grass. Our final challenge was to draw a map of the deep, dark wood and we had to make sure that we included all of the animals. We had to make our own habitat for The Gruffalo.

Our new topic!

This week for the Summer Term, we have started our new topic of 'Toys'. 

The children really enjoyed bringing their own toys in from home yesterday to share with their friends. 

Thank you so much to ALL of the grandparents and parents for coming into show us some toys from the past. Red Class found it very interesting learning about how toys have changed over time.

Our new topic is Toys! The children have been able to use the shop in the classroom to buy items using real money!
