Culture Week

This week at Beighton it is culture week!! 

We are very excited about this! 

Year 1 are learning all about China! They have been making comparisons between Beighton School and Chinese Schools.

Planting tomatoes

 Red Class have planted their own tomatoes!! 

They have been learning about what seeds need to help them grow.

Learning to play the recorder

Over the past half term, Red Class have been lucky enough to have a music teacher come in and teach recorders. 

They have really enjoyed learning how to play different notes.

Red Class have now taken their recorders home to continue their practising! 

Culture Week Comparisons

We watched a video all about the life of a typical Chinese school student and then used what we had learnt to compare the differences between a Chinese school and Beighton School. Did you know in China they have around 50 children per class?

Culture Week

For Culture Week we are learning all about China. We are fully immersing ourselves into Chinese culture and today we have painted our names on bookmarks in Chinese symbols. Tomorrow we are sampling Chinese cuisine, yummy!
