Nursery Science Day

Wow, what a day we have all had! We have watched, listened and made predictions for all of our experiments. Some of us even dressed as Scientists!

Thank you to all children and grown-ups who attended the zoom sessions today and made the experiments a huge success. We hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did. We can't wait to see your photographs and emails about what happened!

We carried out different experiments. Take a look at what we saw and what we learned about today:

We tested materials to see if they were magnetic.

We watched a chemical reaction take place - the balloon inflated!

Our stickman 'danced' on a plate.

We made our own walkie-talkies.

We watched the volcano 'erupt'.

Orange Class Science Day 2021

The children have had an amazing day as scientists. They have conducted several experiments including creating a rainbow, making raisins dance and observing how soap repels dirt.

Science Day in Green Class

We have had a fantastic Science day in Green Class. We have had lots of fun and learnt lots too. We made predictions, conducted our experiments and recorded our findings. We also had some fantastic outfits as you can see from the pictures.

Science Day 2021

Wow have had such a fantastic Science day! We have taken part in so many experiments, watched lots of reactions take place, observed over time, recorded results and had great discussions! It has been great to see such enthusiasm from the children both in school and learning at home via zoom or pictures sent in. The buzz of excitement has been so lovely to see.

Mental Health week

 Hi Pink Class,

Last week children in school participated in lots of different mental health activities.

Here are some pictures of what we did......

We made hearts and thought about the people we love while decorating them.
We also talked about what is mental health and spoke about different emotions.

I think all parents are aware but just to make sure...

Being active in the snow

The children enjoyed being active and creative in the snow.

Having fun for Mental Health Week

Hello everyone,

How was your snow day yesterday? We wanted to share with you what we did yesterday. Miss Challoner went outdoors for a snowy walk with her children, and at night had a little disco and danced around the kitchen. Mrs Watson spent the day in the snow with her children too.

Mrs Walsh did some knitting and read her book and Mrs Taylor read a book and did a crossword puzzle.

We all felt so much better after the day, and it was really good for all of our mental health.

What have you been up to this week that has helped your mental health?

One Piece At A Time

One Piece At A Time
"Life is a giant puzzle. Every day we need to piece together all of the things that help to make us smile."

Inspired by
Children's Mental Health Week, 1st - 7th February, we would like to share a new challenge with you.

Science models

Orange class know that an animal needs food, air and water to survive. They used their knowledge to make models of their animals. The children then labelled their models to identify how the animal eats, breaths and drinks.

Giving Back

As part of Children's Mental Health week, why not spread a bit of love with the following activity:

Children's Mental Health Week

Colour in a piece of the puzzle every time you complete something. Can you fill your jigsaw pieces?  We will also be having a go in Nursery. Have fun!
